Smell You Later

Hay peeps

I don't know why I've wrote that but that's how cheery I am today, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because there is winter in the air Halloween is round the corner and I'm going to London soon and before you know it  Christmas will be here.

Whilst on my travels looking for Christmas presents for those relatives you never know what to get I came across these beauties in TK Maxx.

These have to be my favourite smelling shampoo and conditioner ever! My hairdresser used to use these before she switched to Redken. I used to buy it quite a lot but then being a poor student I couldn't afford it and once I found out you could buy it at the whole salers for much cheaper I stopped buying it.
I must of been feeling flush to buy it again but after smelling it I could resist even at £12 a bottle for 750ml.

Tigi Catwalk, Tigi Catwalk Honey and Oatmeal Shampoo and Conditioner Review

They literally smell like you can eat them I'm not sure I can actually describe how good they are, The oatmeal smells heavenly with the sweet hint of honey its amazing. I have had to set rules with the boy to make sure he doesn't use to much, and I'll be watching.

As for the shampoo as an actual shampoo its lovely, its easy to lather up and always leaves my hair feeling really clean without leaving it dry. The conditioner does exactly what it claims to do it really does comfort my hair leaving it feeling very moisturised without being greasy.

Over all these are my favourite moisturising shampoo and condition and they blow away my cheap alternatives from Herbal Essences. The smell is just a massive bonus.

What's your favourite smelling products?

Spot The Difference

Hi Guys

So a while a go I posted that I was trying out the Lee Stafford let it grow range and I would let you know how I got on. I purchased the Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment when it was on offer in Boots and thought I would give it a go as it was cheaper.

Let It Grow, Lee Stafford Let If Grow Results, Lee Stafford

Now i did promise to do this post on the first of the month but I actually have left it a little longer than I expected. So here's a picture taken on the 1st of September.

And here's a picture from the 6th October

Spot The Difference
Now I personally have not seen a massive change I know the angle is slightly different but I cant say its much longer using the range then it would be if I hadn't and it had naturally grown over the month.

As a shampoo and condition I cant say I really liked it either and a few times I've gone back to by usual products as my hair felt quite dry. Also I found the shampoo as little tough to lather up and had to wash it twice to make sure it was clean.

I'll defiantly not be re-purchasing this and I might if I'm feeling flush try another brand. Have you tried the Lee Stafford Grow? What did you think, please let me know if you know a good product for growing out your hair or a good review.

A Braid Of A Time

Hola

A while a go I did a 7 days of hair styles check it out here but recently I saw a post on Pinterest from Latest Hairstyles on how to do a head band braid and I couldn't believe how easy it was, here's the link but I decided to change it a little bit and add a curl.

Curly Hair Styles, Headband Braid

So here's the before picture, Freshly washed hair blow dried up side down to add a little lift.

This is all you need, you could always use your straighteners to curl but I wanted to have a loose curl.

The first step is to section the hair behind your ears and clip the back section behind.

Next clip the middle section back leaving you with two section on each side

Now braid both section of hair moving them upwards as you do it fastened with a clear band untill your left with something like this.

Next its time to add the curl making sure the bottom is curlier then the top moving the top sections backwards as you do so.

Now clip the front section back moving one braid across and over your head pinning where the other braid starts.

Then repeat across the other side using the braids to hide any tell tell signs

Now remove the clip and style the hair bringing it forward to cover the sides. Spray with hair spray and your done.

Let If Grow

Hi Guys

There's been a lot of hype around the Lee Stafford Hair Growth range and I'm jumping on the band wagon.
At the moment there's an offer on in boots three products for £12 and as the Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment add up to £22 why say no to giving it a try.

So here's the 'science' bit
The Lee Stafford Hair Growth Range contains a pro-Growth complex for strength within. A protein based complex to fertilize your follicles, creating a healthy environment on the scalp to help hair grow faster and reach its maximum potential length.

Personally I've been growing my hair for years, seriously years. When I was little my mum decided to cut all my hair off and I literally looked like a boy and hated it. I hated it when girls at school got to do loads of stuff with their hair and I was stuck everyday with the same thing. I literally had to wash it and style everyday to make it look decent.

I decided that the best way to see the results was to actually measure my hair growth. I've tried to do a little research into the average hair growth over a period of a month but the answer is everyone is different and several things can effect it. One being diet, its strange how everything about you seems to rely on diet but we are all guilty of miss treating it 'A moment on the lips a life time on the hips' should be a moment on the lips and your weight, skin and hair will suffer.

Here's a picture of my hair on the 1st of September and in a months times ill take another to show you how well or not well I'm doing.

Seven Heaven

Hi Guys

When I started this blog I really didn't think hair was something I would go into. For years thanks to my mum, I had a lovely boys haircut and was never able to do anything with it. But for the last few years I've been growing it and absolutely love it, I love be able to actually try new things with it and create different looks.

I was watching a Dolly Bow Bow video and Kate was on about her hair and how when your younger and at a certain age most girls want to cut their hair. They want to do something different and start to experiment with their looks. Well anyway she was one who really wanted to cut her hair but her mother said not to as she would regret it and oh how I wish my mum had done the same. Kate's hair if you don't know is amazingly thick, long and healthy and hopefully one day my hair will be the same.

When my hair was short I felt like I had to wash it every day to style it but over time I have cut back and now, with the help of dry shampoo, I only wash it every three days or so. Go me right!

Well for work I try and look smart and keep my hair looking different as I'm a little paranoid about people saying I always look the same. And recently I've been getting compliments on my hair styles and thought I would share them and see what you guys think.

My hair product must haves to to create all these looks are..

Hair tools, Hair Accessories, Rollers, Hair Bands, Hair Pins, Dry Shampoo, Head Hugger, Denman, Elnett Hairspray, Tangle Teeze, Donut, V05 give me texture, V05 Plump It Up, Berber oil

Denman Styling 5 Row Handbag Brush
V05 Plump It Up Amplifying Blow Dry Lotion
V05 Give Me Texture Instand Oomph Powder
Loreal Paris Elnett Hair Spray
Bobby Pins In Two Sizes
Berber Oil Hair Treatment

Batiste Dry shampoo
Clear Hair Bands
Denman Big Barrel Brush in Head Hugger
Tail Comb
Regular Hair Bands
Velcro Rollers in assorted sizes
Donut Bun
Tangle Teezer

Now a lot of these styles or looks are for second day hair as I thought that's what most people would want to see as I always find it easy to wear down when its freshly washed.
Before we start I would like to point out yes I know the picture quality aint great and I do apologise but my camera is rubbish. And I would like to point out I am aware that my hair needs dying and on some of the up does you may notice it still has a red tint on the ends from about two years ago so my advise never dye your hair red.

Style One: Twist & Shake

This has to be one of my most worn hair styles as its really simple. If needed spray the roots with a little dry shampoo and back comb at your parting. Select the size of the piece you would like to pin back and twist bringing the hair back as you go this will give you a tighter look. Pin with two bobby pins one upwards and one downwards crossing them over around an inch back from the ears, then repeat. Make sure that both sides are even and then fix with a generous amount of hair spray.

Style Two: Twisted Sister

This is a good one for both freshly washed or second day hair, make sure your parting is over on one side which ever you prefer for yourself. Start by twisting a section of hair about an inch square away from your face and adding more hair to it as you go. Make sure you keep the hair tight as you go moving slightly father away from your face as move down. Pin the hair about half an inch behind and above the ear making sure that you cover the pins with a small section of hair from the side of your head.

Style Three: Bun Deal
For years I honestly thought that this look could only be created if you had really long hair until I discovered the good old donut. I purchased mine from Primark for £1 and must wear it at least once a week, its a god send. This style is also perfect to get an extra day out of washing your hair and great if your trying to wash it less.

Step one is simply to put your hair into a high pony tail, I always back comb mine a little because I dont like it being flat to my head. Place the donut over the pony tail like you would another hair band and back comb the tail of your hair so that its nice and bushy. Next fan the hair over and around the donut so that none of it is showing and place another hair band around the bun to hold the hair in place. Finaly I use the large bobby pins to tuck in all the excess hair, use a generous amount of hair spray to hold in place and your done.

Tip - If your hair is to short to cover the donut fully simply buy a small piece of hair extension in the best matched colour for you and rap around the donut. This will hide any gaps you may have once you have fanned out your hair.

Style Four: Pinned It
This is my favourite hair style as it can be worn on fresh hair that just wont do as its told and second day hair to hide greasy bits.

This style is very similar to the 'Twist & Shake' style and is completed in the same way just choosing larger pieces of hair and back combing the hair slightly higher.

Style Five: Curly Wearly
This is my going out hair or at least when I have time to keep my rollers in for long enough. Using rollers for the first time can be quite daunting but after practising a few times it becomes like second nature. I am going to do a more detailed post on how to use rollers as its going to be quite a long one.

Style Seven: Lazy Sundays
I stole this look from The Beauty Department and loved how simple it was. Its just a high pony tail that is back combed and pinned under with bobby pins. Make sure you pull the hair tight at the very front of the pony tail to get it as high as you can and finish with generous amount of hair spray.

Thanks for reading and I fancy doing a few more posts like this with other styles I use if you guys would like to read them.

Believe the Hype?

We are all guilty of it, we want it everyone else has it so I'm going to get it too. Over the past few weeks I've been buying products that have been raved about by other bloggers and I thought I would add my two pence to the pot.

Here's the products I have been buying.

The Real Techniques Stippling Brush which you can pick up in Boots for £11.99 is one of the best brushes I've used for foundation and I love the way it gives me a flawless finish. I have used this brush two different ways with two different foundations, first I used my Bobbi Brown cream foundation by buffing the brush directly into the foundation and then onto my face. The second is with a Lancome foundation I'm trying which is a liquid I dotted on my face and buffed it in, out of the two I think its better with the liquid but had a great affect on both.

BELIEVE IT
Real Techniques Stippling Brush

Another product from Boots is the Original Tangle Teezer! This is a completely new product to me and after the reviews I decided to buy one since my hair has quite a lot of fly a ways from hair breakages and split ends. I think that the cost is to high for this product and even though it works and did leave my hair soft £10.99 is way to much for a plastic brush when a wide toothed comb will do that same job.

DON'T BELIEVE

Tangle Teezer Pink
Tangle Teezer
Next Boujois Magic Nail Polish Remover yet another one that you can pick up in boots (think I may have a boots addiction) at the price of £4.99 which is more then I would usually spend on nail polish remover, I normally get the cheapest I can find. However I'm so glad that I bought this as it does what it says on the tin! OK maybe not 1 second maybe more like 5 but still impressive. It makes life so much easier then using cotton wool or tissue, its great if you make a mistake on one nail and need to take it off without touching others. I would recommend this to anyone and even though it says it smells like Passion Fruits and Vanilla it still has a strong nail polish remover smell.

Last but not least something you can't buy in boots and not even in the UK. The Bioderma Sensbio H20 Make up remover. If we are being honest here and we are being honest I never use make up remover. I simply use my cleanser or soap which doesn't always work well. So I invested in Bioderma after seeing how gentle it was but still being able to remove waterproof mascara. It doesn't actually smell of anything other then clean if that makes sense and I managed to pick mine up off EBay for £9.30 delivered.

April Glossy Box Preview

Hi guys so its that time of the month, Yep April Glossy Box is here!!! I thought I would do a quick post about what's in this months and an overview. The theme this month is all about being green (not literately) but all the products this month are ethical goodies that have come in a 100% biodegradable box which I quite like.

Glossy Box April

Figs and Rouge Peppermint & Tea Tree for lips face & body balm smells fab! and makes my lips instantly soft, but I wouldn't put it on my skin unless its an emergency as it does feel quite greasy.

Figs & Rouge

Inika Organic Eye-liner in Sapphire, this has to be one of the softest eye-liners I've used it literately glides on. I'm not a fan of the colour as I don't tend to use blue due to the Pat Butcher look but I've got a feeling I may grow to love it.

Inika Sapphire Eye-Liner

Inika Sapphire Eye-Liner

Philip B Drop Dead Straightening Balm is according to the package a non-greasy silicon-free water-soluble styling aid that give curly or wavy hair a straight, tangle-free, and sleep finish. However I do have quite straight hair to start with so I'm not sure how useful this will be for me but ill keep you updated as it has to be used before you dry your hair. It doesn't smell of anything really which is a little disappointing but we shall see.

Philip B Drop Dead Staightening Balm

Monu Professional Skincare Enriched Body Cream is a very thick cream with a smell that I cant really describe but its fresh and I feel slightly lemony. It soaked in very well but it did however leave my skin a little greasy but that didn't last long. As I have very dry skin and this did nourish it for a little while but didn't last very long, if you have normal skin then this could be fine but I'm not convinced for very dry skin.

Monu Professional Skincare Enriched Body Cream

And last but not least the Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum which by the title I was quite excited about. Smell wise it isn't anything special but did leave my skin very smooth and very touchable but I will have to give it a few days to see it it lives up to its description so ill keep you posted.

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum

If your lucky enough to have the April Glossy Box please share your thoughts on the products and the theme for month, hope this was useful thanks for ready :)
