Simply The Best

Hi Guys

How are we all? sorry I've not been blogging a lot recently but my camera broke. Yep major cry, its been sent off as its under extended warranty so I'm hoping it will be back soon or it will be an excuse to buy a new one.

Now I've actually had these for quite a while but wanted to give them a good try before writing a review as there are so many reviews about them out there.

I have used Body Shop eye lashes curlers for years but my last pair were literately on their last legs the handles had half broken off and when they started to pull my eyelashes out it was time for the bin.

Now I was first put off by the cost of Shu Uemure eyelash curlers at £20 a pop I thought that was to much to pay. However after finding out one of my best friends uses them and loves them I actually blagged the boy to treat me to them but only after I cried about how bad my other ones were.

Curly Curl

Now this might be being a little bit special but I honestly never knew that you should not only squeeze the lashes but also tip the curlers up at the same time. I have to say that this as made such a difference to curling my eyelashes

The best thing about these curlers are the little black rubber bit. Unlike the other curlers I have had these don't have a rib inwards they are actually arched to help with curling.

Over all rating defiantly a 5/5 they do exactly what they say on the tin and are the best ones that I have ever used, How about you?

Art Deco Set

Hi All

Now I've been in my local Debenhams countless times and walked straight past the Art Deco counter without a second glance.

Now this is my usual choice of colour but it was a freebie of my Grandma, yes strange but true. I went round for a brew and came home with a nail polish and matching lippy.

Its a shame with such a usual brand name they couldn't name their nail polishes something cool unlike number 06 Orange Tawny but that's me just being fussy. Looking at their website I was quite impressed with the range of colour they have on offer and what a big brand they are. According to them they outsell Chanel and Mac in Europe and are present in over 88 countries, Strange how I've never tried it before this.

The quality of the nail polish was actually quite a nice surprise and even though I did put a top coat on, the colour its self was still quite glossy. It lasted quite a few days and I choose to take it off rather then it starting to crack, chip and peel.

The Lipstick my Grandma tells me was advised to her as matching set and I must say they do match quite well. I had to look up the colour name and type of lipstick and it turns out its called Soft Praline 67 and is a Perfect Colour Lipstick.

The texture is actually lovely its shiny and soft, it feels like its really moisturising my lips. Yes I am be taking a drip to Debenhams to have a nosey at some of their other lipstick shades.

Staying power isn't great but it being quite subtle I think I could reapply this a few times a day quite happily and it has made it into my handbag.

Have your tried anything from Art Deco? let me who what's your favourite.

Its A Small World

Boujour

How are we all today? I wanted to do a post about some of the little things Ill be taking to V-Festival next weekend. However when I started to get all my products together it appears that I have an unhealthy obsession with miniatures I have so many of them.

Now I will be taking more then just these bits but the other stuff is just the basics like my general make up and lots and lots of baby wipes.

Its always a great idea to get some small empties you can fill with your favourite products.

Festival Fun
A few weeks ago the nice people at Toxic Lips asked me to have a look at their temporary lip tattoos and choose two designs for me to try. I picked the pink glitter and the ones that say kiss on them, they sent me two of each and I'm going to give them a go next week with my friends which I'm really looking forward to doing. If you want to have a look at the other deigns they do here's a link to the website and Ill let your all know next week how I get on.

The eye lashes are the ones I always wear from a brand called Dimples style E495. I love these and I get them from Home Bargains for £1.99 and you get two sets so these are perfect for whole weekend. I also, if I don't over do the glue or the mascara, use them several times and they always look great.

Id love to know what your Festival essentials are and how your save space and weight whilst travelling.

Clean Machine

Hi guys

I like many I have been guilty of not washing my brushes often enough but since I started to take my skin care routine seriously I started taking my brush cleaning seriously. Now I'm sure there are many things involved in the fact my skin looks better then it ever has but I personally think that regularly cleaning my brushes has helped.

I have in the past purchased Mac Brush Cleaner but at £9.50 a go I now use good old Johnsons baby shampoo that I got from ASDA for £1.

I try to clean my brushes at least once a week, usually on a Sunday, making sure I clean every brush I've used even the mini ones in some of my sets.

Instantly I can feel and see the difference and I love how my Real Techniques stipperling brush becomes as good as new. And this is all you need, a sink, water, baby shampoo and your make up brushes.

Clean Machine
Clean and Shiney
I tend to squirt a small amount of baby shampoo into my palm, wet the end of my brush and rub them into the shampoo trying to be as gentle as I can but still making sure they get a good clean. One main tip I have is when cleaning make up brushes try and not get the top of the bristles wet as it can loosen the glue. And no one wants bristles on the face.

I hope you already clean your make up brushes but this is the best way I found to clean mine. Do you have any tips of how you clean your brushes?

Smoke Without Fire

Hi guys!

If you have read my post The Whole Hog you would know that I spent quite a while last Saturday getting ready and doing a smokey eye look. Now for season professionals a smoky eye may be a little bit on the easy side but for me it's quite a feet. I'm not going to lie and say this is the first time I have attempted to do a smoky eye before but in the past I always seem to end up with a drag queen look and not in a good way.

Now to create this look I used two different eye shadows, two different eye liners a set of false eye lashes from eye-lure and my Benefit Bad Girl Lash mascara.

Smoky Pewter eye shadow from Benefit
Mac Gleam eye shadow
Bad Gal eyeliner from Benefit
An old black liquid liner from Maybelline

Just to clarify the pictures start in the top left corner and move in a clockwise direction.

Smokey eyes
Smoke Without Fire

1. Line the eye on both top and bottom lashes and smudge
2. Starting from the outer counter and working in I used the Smoky Pewter colour out of the Benefit smoky eye kit.
3. Starting from the inner corner I used the Mac Gleam eye shadow focusing on the crease slowing working my way up and outwards.
4. Curl eyelashes.
5. Apply false eye lashes of choice making sure the glue has had a good two minutes to go tacky. I always apply my lashes starting from the outer corner working inwards as some times if they are to close to the inside they can be quite painful.
6. Carefully line the lashes with a black liquid liner to hide the tell tale signs of false eye lashes
7. Use a good non clumpy mascara to mask the difference between your own lashes and the false one.
8. Go get your self a drink.

I hope this has been helpful for a simple smoky look

June & May Glossy Box

Hi guys

Now I didn't post about my glossy box last month as I wanted to try the products properly and see if they are worth buying and give my honest opinion.

May Glossy Box
So there are two products that I have used a lot over the last few weeks. The Apivita with honey face masks that I got two of and which I used two of and the Osmo Berber Hair Oil which smells amazing. I love smelling the Osmo Berber Hair Oil I think it has a very nice hint of vanilla and I find myself smelling my hair through the day to see if I can still smell it. I also find that it doesn't make my hair greasy like other hair oils.

So the Aprivita face mask I'm afraid that even though it was nice I wont be rushing out to buy it any time soon. It wasn't moisturising enough for me as I have very try skin and need a massive moisture serge but my skin did feel a little softer after it used it.

Now onto the June Glossy Box and yes I know I only got it today but really like the content of this months box and wanted to share it with you.

June Glossy Box

June Glossy Box
Here's a run down of the five dazzling products this month. 1. Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream Stick starter kit. 2. Serie Exclusive Pro Beauty Brush. 3. HD Brows Precsision Tweezers. 4. Caudalie Eaux Fraiches invigoration and energising fragrances in Zest De Vigne. 5. BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer.

I cant wait to have a good try of these products and have already been spraying my Zesty Caudalie fragrance which has already had its way into my hand bag.

What did you get in your Glossy Box??

The Foundations Of Lancome

Hi guys

In my favourites page you will see how I love the Bobbi Brown Cream Foundation but last month when it ran out I decided to try something new. I was recommended the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 as aa good one for someone who has very dry skin but needs coverage like me.

Here's the sales patter....

Lancôme's Teint Idole Ultra 24H offers more long-wear and comfort than any other foundation*.

24h long-wear for endless perfection

Following 8 years of research, Lancôme unveils its first 24h** wear foundation for lasting perfection. Teint Idole Ultra 24H remains retouch-free, providing a flawless looking, even complexion with a velvety-smooth, shine-free finish.
24h of divine comfort**
In perfect affinity with the skin, Teint Idole Ultra 24h is irresistibly comfortable. Its new, blendable and fresh texture is divine and leaves the complexion feeling smooth, velvety and matte with no powdery effect.
18 shades available.

Now don't let the name fool you this is actually a really good coverage and does last a good 12 hours plus but as I've never tried it for more I couldn't say if its 24 hours.

Lancome Idole Ultra 25h
Is it wrong to love this product for the packaging? I love how it looks expensive and I guess it is for a foundation at £27 RRP but worth every penny.

I did actually try this foundation before I bought it and got a rather large sample and my colour matched up before I took the plunge, and would recommend you to do this first!

I decided for you to get the best look of this foundation and how I think it perfectly matches my skin tone is by applying it only to half of my face. Ok I have put a little something on my brows and tickled my eyelashes with mascara as I'm too vain to look to much of a mess on pictures but other then that I'm bare on the left side with the foundation on the right.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H in 35 Beige Dore

I have to say that my skin is in much better condition then usual but this foundation is amazing. It's light but has great coverage I don't have that make up feeling at all and have forgotten that I'm wearing it. I use my real techniques stipplerling brush to apply it, I haven't tried other ways as I loved this way straight off. I really think that it gives me a good coverage and evens my skin tone completely.

Since starting to use this I have actually stopped using a bronzer as I cant get over how even and clear my skin looks with it on. I would seriously recommend this to anyone and would tell you the next chance you get to go and get a sample and let me know what you think.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my review and this has helped if you are looking for a new foundation.

Thanks

Another Mac Lipstick

Can a girl have to many lipsticks? to many pink lipsticks? to many Mac lipsticks? what's that I hear you cry NO

Well my bank account says yes you can, you do not need another lipstick but I don't listen. So here's a new one Mac Creamsheen in Speed Dial.

Mac Creamsheen Speed Dial

Mac Creamsheen Speed Dial
I honestly think that the Creamsheen range has to be my favourite lipstick so far and ill defiantly be purchasing some more shades. I like that this as a very bright pink but is very moisturising it does give a good sheen to it as well.

Are you addicted to pink Mac lipsticks? I defiantly am.

Mini Mac Haul

We all love a little Mac treat and recently I've had no problem of justifying a few little Mac treats.

So a few weeks ago me and the boy had a trip into Manchester and why I left him watching the rugby on the big screen I had a nip into Selfridges.

I'm not usually one for lipsticks but I'm learning and becoming addicted, so I purchased a Lipstick and an Eye-shadow.

Mac Gleam and Lustering Swatch

The Lipstick is one that you can wear just as a little colour or as something quite dramatic but I wear this for work and mostly use it subtly

Mac Lustre Lustering

The eye shadow is exactly me, its subtle and shimmering and like all my Mac eye shadows its lasts all day. I'm sorry I haven't got a picture but this is also a good one for blending with browns and to do a good smoky eye.

I hope you like these little Mac treats just as much as I do, and ill be continuously adding to my collection.

All About The Brows

Brows are taking over the beauty world and even though I've been tinting my eyebrows for a while I love finishing off my make up with a little added extra.

A few years a go for Christmas my mum bought me the Benefit Smokin Eyes Kit which I love, and in the kit is a brow gel that I'm addicted to. However the kit is to big for my make up bag so I went to the Benefit counter and found out that they do the gel in a single eyebrow kit with a powder.

Benefit Brow Kit In Medium

Benefit Brow Kit in Medium

Im not sure what my favourite part of this kit is as it all looks good no matter which bit you use. The gel on its own gives a very natural look but that little bit extra specially for erm 'none make up' days. The combination of the two is amazing and just how I personally think that eyebrows should look.

Benefit Eye Brow Kit

The brushes in the set are quite good in quality, the angle brush for the gel is just the right size and the mini powder brush gives a good coverage. These are my second pair of mini Benefit Tweezers as you get some in the Smokin Eye Kit to and I cant say enough good things about them. I think I actually prefer them to my rather expensive Tweezerman's as even though they are small they are sharp and precise.

I have tried a few different eye brow pencils and definitely prefer a gel and a powder. The only down side is the kit doesn't contain an eye brow comb but the lady at the counter gave me a few mascara brushes that work great.

Hope this as been helpful please comment is you have a favourite eyebrow product you would recommend.

First MUA product

I'm very excited over this blush, I'm sure you might of noticed from my favourites page that i tend to go for the more expensive make up but I wanted to try a more coral colour and thought it would be good to get a cheaper one for a starting point. So off to Superdrug I popped and found this lovely MUA beauty.

I have never used anything from MUA before and after seeing reviews of how good the products are for the cost I instantly fell in love with this blush.

MUA Blusher Shade 4

MUA Shade 4

MUA Shade 4

The pigment in this blush is amazing I actually way over did it the first time I used it because I wasn't expecting it to be so good. The only down fall to this blush is that its called shade 4, really is that as good as they could do.

Oh did I mention it was just £1!!! I will be going raiding their other blushes defiantly!
