Black Sparkle & Night

Hi All

So last week I put a call out on twitter for a nice black glitter polish and no one really answered my question even though I got some ideas of how to make one. I did see a lovely Nails Inc one but at £11 I decided to give it a miss, so hence this little beauty from W7, A brand I hadnt really noticed before.

W7 Cosmic Black, W7 75, Black Glitter Nail Polish, Cheap Black Glitter Nail Polish
w7 Comic Black

A Bottle Of Night

I picked this up for the bargain price of £1.99 from a market stall and I think my luck was in. I'm defiantly going back to get some more of these as they do them in loads of colours. This one is called Cosmic Black number 75.

Now even though the colour is amazing and exactly what I was looking for the staying power or 'chipabilty' isn't so great but for £1.99 I'm not complaining to loudly.

So what do you think? have we tried any other W7 polishes?

Art Deco Set

Hi All

Now I've been in my local Debenhams countless times and walked straight past the Art Deco counter without a second glance.

Now this is my usual choice of colour but it was a freebie of my Grandma, yes strange but true. I went round for a brew and came home with a nail polish and matching lippy.

Its a shame with such a usual brand name they couldn't name their nail polishes something cool unlike number 06 Orange Tawny but that's me just being fussy. Looking at their website I was quite impressed with the range of colour they have on offer and what a big brand they are. According to them they outsell Chanel and Mac in Europe and are present in over 88 countries, Strange how I've never tried it before this.

The quality of the nail polish was actually quite a nice surprise and even though I did put a top coat on, the colour its self was still quite glossy. It lasted quite a few days and I choose to take it off rather then it starting to crack, chip and peel.

The Lipstick my Grandma tells me was advised to her as matching set and I must say they do match quite well. I had to look up the colour name and type of lipstick and it turns out its called Soft Praline 67 and is a Perfect Colour Lipstick.

The texture is actually lovely its shiny and soft, it feels like its really moisturising my lips. Yes I am be taking a drip to Debenhams to have a nosey at some of their other lipstick shades.

Staying power isn't great but it being quite subtle I think I could reapply this a few times a day quite happily and it has made it into my handbag.

Have your tried anything from Art Deco? let me who what's your favourite.

Never To Much Sparkle

Hi guys

So a few weeks back I did a post where I had used gems on my nails and as you can tell I've now become addicted to using them. I have since doing this almost ran out of gems but that might be a good thing at this rate.

The colour I used was a cheap and cheerful Barry M number called Shocking Pink I used this with the base and top coat also from Barry M.

Barry M shocking Pink, Nail Gems
Shocking Pink

Pink Is King
I always let the nail polish go tacky before I put the gems on using a tiny bit of blue tack on the end of a bobby pin. To get the most of lovely little gems I use several layers of clear polish over the top.

I hope your as much addicted to gems as I am! Thanks for reading

Princess Nails

Hi guys

Even though I was not destined to go out this weekend due to work, a girl has to make the effort. So a little sparkle on the nails can go a long way to making you feel fab.

Princess Nails

Now this is the same very pale pink that I wore in Pick and Mix Nails called Play the Ponies and used my trusted Barry M as the base and top coat. The gems I'm sorry I don't have a picture I bought from The Body Shop for a £1 a while ago and have been floating about in my make up bag. They are basically gems you can use on your skin for kids really but with a few layers of top coat they look great. I used a pin with blue tack on the end to apply them making sure that the nail polish was slightly tacking when I stuck them on.

I hope you liked my princess nails too its nice just to add a little extra sparkle for a night out.

Pick and Mix Nails

Hi guys

I wont bore my regular readers with my OPI collection story again so you can check it out here but look what I created today!

Who cares if its raining, we live in England and deep down we completely except it even if we don't like it. So here's a little OPI nail treat with Sunshine built in.

OPI I Lilly Love You, Sparrow Me The Drama and Play The Peonies

Pick and Mix OPI Nails

I think pick and mix nails are a great idea and love it when the colours are similar or compliment each other. The colours I used where Sparrow Me The Drama which is the pink, The light pink but looks white on these pictures is Play The Peonies and the glitter is one I use quite a bit is I Lilly Love You.

I also followed it with the good old favourite of Barry M top coat.

I hope you like my attempt at Pick and Mix nails and inspires you to try it for your self.

Share The Nails

Hi guys

For anyone who was lucky enough to join in with the #bbloggers on twitter on Sunday you may have already picked up on this if not here's the details. From 8 till 9 beauty bloggers get together on twitter to discuss one topic, Sundays topic was how to gain more followers. But don't worry not one of the scam ways of doing it but the genuine way to attract new readers and followers.
One of the main themes that appeared was simply be nice to others be polite and only blog about things your interested in and passionate about because if your not bothered your readers wont be either!!

I love joining in these types of conversation because you can 'meet' new bloggers and share and gain great ideas. Straight after to the boys dismay I stayed on twitter flicking through the feeds for anything that took my fancy and look what I came across.

I'm only starting to bother with my nails as I don't like my hands, yes strange but true and don't like to draw to much attention to them. Now this might be me being cynical but most of the nail art pictures of this quality and variation are not normally from the person that posts them but more ideas they have found along the way. However I was completely amazed when I came across this pictures and spend a good half and hour or so flicking through other pictures that where obviously by the same person.

The free nail polish from Marie Claire magazine, Ciate Bonbon

So taking with me my new found information I decided to write a blog all about @jeffroledge and her amazing nail art because one I love it and two I really want to share it! She has over 50 pictures of her nail art on her twitter page and PLEASE go and check it out but here's a few of my personal favourites.

Bumble Bee Nails, Let It Be Summer!

Mini Mouse

Pop Art Inspired

Now these are the most fancy of all  @jeffroledge  nails but I love them! I love how fun they are and different especially the pop art nails they are definitely my favourites. After asking @jeffroledge how she creates these amazing nails, her biggest tip is to use a art brush and mix your nail polishes to create the perfect colours.

I hope you have enjoyed my little share the nails post and ley me know if you have found any other budding nail technicians with amazing work.

Everything That Glitters Is Pink

Hi guys how are we all??

As a few of you might know I have erm acquired quite a few OPI nail polishes recently and here's a new ultra girlie ultra pink look for the summer. I used my trusted base coat from Barry M followed by the solid Pink Positively that I only needed one coat of and left to try for a few hours. Once I knew it was completely dry I painted over the top with the Lilly Love You and finished off with the Barry M again.

Red Red Wine

What can you say about a good red nail polish, it never gets old and always looks classy, in my opinion any way. As you may have read in my Kid in a Candy Shop post I have erm acquired several new OPI nail polishes as this is my latest favourite .

I love the names of the OPI nail polishes it really does add that little bit extra something and this one is called Malaga Wine.

OPI Malaga Wine

I used my favourite based coat and top coat from Barry M a snip at £3 if I remember correctly. I don't think any nail polish really if finished without a good top coat to add the extra shine.

OPI Malage Wine

The only thing I swear by if I have the time is always paint my nails in stages with maybe a base coat on in the afternoon and the first coat of polish in the evening, with the second coat and the top coat the morning aft. However as you can tell this is not always possible but giving the polish longer to dry seems to make it last longer for me.

The only nail product I lust after at the moment is a quick drying spray but I haven't read many reviews and I'm not sure if they are worth the money. If you have tried one please let me know or if you know a good post about one that would be very helpful.

Kid in a Candy Shop

This is quite embarrassing but I bought my first house last October with the boy but I bought a house literary 20 doors downs from my mums. Now don't get me wrong I am not still tugging on the apron strings but it is nice to be able to nip round when ever I want. For example to help my self to my mums nails polishes, I know she has a few bottles of good old OPI and I went round when she was at work for a stealth steal the OPI mission.

I literately couldn't believe my eyes when I opened her little nail polish make up bag to find this! She defiantly has been adding to this collection since I moved out. I Literately stole the whole box plus a few extras that I spotted in the cupboard.

So here's what I picked out for a nice pick and mix look that's very summery.  Expect quite a few nail polish posts these next few weeks and please ask if there's one that catches your eye and you would like to see more of it. As I wont be giving these back in a hurry, I wonder how long it will take her to notice there missing.

Pick & Mix

Summer Pick & Mix Nails

The two mini ones are out of a set I bought her for Christmas The Pirate of the Caribbean collection. The purple one is called Plank A Lot and the Pale Pink is Sparrow Me The Drama. The pink glitter over the top of the two nails is I Lily Love You which I think is my new favourite and I used the Barry M Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Harder.

Hope this inspires you for summer nails whilst the sun is shinning and thanks for reading my post :)

Believe the Hype?

We are all guilty of it, we want it everyone else has it so I'm going to get it too. Over the past few weeks I've been buying products that have been raved about by other bloggers and I thought I would add my two pence to the pot.

Here's the products I have been buying.

The Real Techniques Stippling Brush which you can pick up in Boots for £11.99 is one of the best brushes I've used for foundation and I love the way it gives me a flawless finish. I have used this brush two different ways with two different foundations, first I used my Bobbi Brown cream foundation by buffing the brush directly into the foundation and then onto my face. The second is with a Lancome foundation I'm trying which is a liquid I dotted on my face and buffed it in, out of the two I think its better with the liquid but had a great affect on both.

BELIEVE IT
Real Techniques Stippling Brush

Another product from Boots is the Original Tangle Teezer! This is a completely new product to me and after the reviews I decided to buy one since my hair has quite a lot of fly a ways from hair breakages and split ends. I think that the cost is to high for this product and even though it works and did leave my hair soft £10.99 is way to much for a plastic brush when a wide toothed comb will do that same job.

DON'T BELIEVE

Tangle Teezer Pink
Tangle Teezer
Next Boujois Magic Nail Polish Remover yet another one that you can pick up in boots (think I may have a boots addiction) at the price of £4.99 which is more then I would usually spend on nail polish remover, I normally get the cheapest I can find. However I'm so glad that I bought this as it does what it says on the tin! OK maybe not 1 second maybe more like 5 but still impressive. It makes life so much easier then using cotton wool or tissue, its great if you make a mistake on one nail and need to take it off without touching others. I would recommend this to anyone and even though it says it smells like Passion Fruits and Vanilla it still has a strong nail polish remover smell.

Boujois Magic Nail Polish Remover

Last but not least something you can't buy in boots and not even in the UK. The Bioderma Sensbio H20 Make up remover. If we are being honest here and we are being honest I never use make up remover. I simply use my cleanser or soap which doesn't always work well. So I invested in Bioderma after seeing how gentle it was but still being able to remove waterproof mascara. It doesn't actually smell of anything other then clean if that makes sense and I managed to pick mine up off EBay for £9.30 delivered.

My Little French Manicure Barry M Style

Ok so im not a massive nail painting fan because I simply don't like my hands, yes this may be a little weird but its something that has always bothered me. However I do like to give myself a French manicure for nights out as I think it obviously looks nice but without drawing to much attentions to my hands.
Its meant to be summer and me and the girls or off out for a day session around Manchester so I thought it would be nice to go for a bright summer colour, next step obviously Barry M for bright summery colours.

Barry M Selection

I love Barry M as the price is perfect for someone who doesn't spend so much time on their nails and I think the quality is very good to.

The colours that I used are 54 Clear as a base and topcoat the tip colours are 306 Blueberry and 272 Shocking Pink, I then put Silver Glitter148 over the top that I think finishes it off nicely.

I hope you like this as I love it and will be investing in other colours!!
