Weekend Antics

Hi guys

Here's another little lifestyle post for you as I've become a little addicted to writing them and I hope you enjoy reading them. I have had such a busy week I don't feel like I've sat down, but if you asked me what I've been to up I'd say not a lot as I don't actually know what I've been doing with my time.

On Friday I did what now has become a kind of tradition for me and my dad, as I don't usually work Fridays and he finishes early, we go out for lunch.

We went to the Prince William at Dalton which is near where my dad and grandad used to work on a farm before it was turned into housing. It was lovely having a drive round and my dad telling me things about my grandad and the stories from my dad being little. I just wish id taken some pictures as its actually a very beautiful area and would recommend it for a lovely country walk.
My lunch at the Prince William was amazing I went for the good old steak and onion baguette with chips. I'm so glad I didn't have a starter as the portion was massive! The chips were more like smacks! Sorry if you don't know what a smack is as its probably a northern thing. It's basically a massive chip, a whole slice of potato that's quite flat.

Since the boy had been away with work all week we planned to go out for the day on Saturday but yet again only ended up in Manchester due to lack of imagination and planning. One day we will get to go to Tatton Park or Leeds!

First plan of action since as we were in Manchester well before 10am was breakfast at the lovely House of Fraser restaurant San Carlo Cicchetti. Now I love a good eggs benedict an have on serval occasions tried to make holendaise sauce with little success and a few disasters to but it nicely.
I've been to Cicchetti's a few times and this is the only time the egg wasn't runny enough but the boy wouldn't let me complain so I kept quite and enjoyed. And to make myself feel better took home the little posts of jam and marmalade that we got with our toast.

The weather started out in good style and we walked around for a bit and bickered over the boy buying an iMac. Which since I was told no I cant have one he's not having one either. But I did fanaticise over a new Mulberry handbag since I NEED a black one in my life.

Next we were off for an afternoon snack or more a big piece of chocolate cake at Patisserie Valerie which always has a massive queue waiting for a table. Even though we managed to get a table, after finding out each piece of cake was a pound more expensive for the pleasure of sitting inside we decided to enjoy the sunshine and find a nice spot on a patch of grass near to Spinningfields. Oh how wrong we were to not pay the extra £2 as the wind picked up that much I feared my cake was to be blown away and gripped onto it for dear life.

After finally shovelling down my double chocolate cake with a sneaky and delish profiterole we managed to get half way a cross town via a quick glance round Jack Wills before the heavens opened.
Running across town with maxi skirt in hand, in a very lady like fashion my I add to make the earlier train in the pouring rain. To only get there and I am blaming the boy for this, getting on the wrong train and it actually being the later one that happened to be in the station, let's just say I was best pleased to then sit there for another 15 mins after watcher our train leave from the next platform.

All in all it was a good day rounded off with a few drinks with the girlies in our local in celebration for a couple of birthdays. I was driving as I worked on Sunday morning again but enjoyed seeing everyone. One day I will get to write a post where I get to go out and get drunk have a lie in and get a McDonalds breakfast rap in bed.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend!

Thanks for reading
