Smoke Without Fire

Hi guys!

If you have read my post The Whole Hog you would know that I spent quite a while last Saturday getting ready and doing a smokey eye look. Now for season professionals a smoky eye may be a little bit on the easy side but for me it's quite a feet. I'm not going to lie and say this is the first time I have attempted to do a smoky eye before but in the past I always seem to end up with a drag queen look and not in a good way.

Now to create this look I used two different eye shadows, two different eye liners a set of false eye lashes from eye-lure and my Benefit Bad Girl Lash mascara.

Smoky Pewter eye shadow from Benefit
Mac Gleam eye shadow
Bad Gal eyeliner from Benefit
An old black liquid liner from Maybelline

Just to clarify the pictures start in the top left corner and move in a clockwise direction.

1. Line the eye on both top and bottom lashes and smudge
2. Starting from the outer counter and working in I used the Smoky Pewter colour out of the Benefit smoky eye kit.
3. Starting from the inner corner I used the Mac Gleam eye shadow focusing on the crease slowing working my way up and outwards.
4. Curl eyelashes.
5. Apply false eye lashes of choice making sure the glue has had a good two minutes to go tacky. I always apply my lashes starting from the outer corner working inwards as some times if they are to close to the inside they can be quite painful.
6. Carefully line the lashes with a black liquid liner to hide the tell tale signs of false eye lashes
7. Use a good non clumpy mascara to mask the difference between your own lashes and the false one.
8. Go get your self a drink.

I hope this has been helpful for a simple smoky look

The Pore Fessional

Hi guys

As you have seen from my other post I recently purchased the Benefit Eyebrow Kit and the nice lady gave me a sample of The Pore Fessional. I have heard some mixed reviews on this product some people seem to not be able to live without this, others are not such big fans.

The sample size I thought was quite good and I got quite excited about this product as I am a little paranoid about the pores on the side of my nose onto my cheeks. The packet says that it quickly minimizes the appearance of pores! Apply this silky, lightweight balm for translucent pore coverage and smoother-than-smooth skin. Pores....... Now you see'em, now you don't!

Now I did take some before and after pictures of my pores with this product but when I came to upload them I couldn't tell the difference. Not a good sign right? well to tell you the truth that's the least of the problems with this products.

I am a Benefit fan but not a fan of this product at all, the texture of it put me off as soon as I tired it. Its quite greasy and my skin didn't like it at all, it seemed to make it dry and gave it a strange texture. After I applied my foundation it didn't 'set' right and left it looking a little off to me.

It retails at £23.50 and its one of Benefits best sellers but I really don't understand why. Please let me know if you have tried this and what you thought of it or if you have tried other pore minimising products.

Thanks for readying I hope this post has helped.

All About The Brows

Brows are taking over the beauty world and even though I've been tinting my eyebrows for a while I love finishing off my make up with a little added extra.

A few years a go for Christmas my mum bought me the Benefit Smokin Eyes Kit which I love, and in the kit is a brow gel that I'm addicted to. However the kit is to big for my make up bag so I went to the Benefit counter and found out that they do the gel in a single eyebrow kit with a powder.

Im not sure what my favourite part of this kit is as it all looks good no matter which bit you use. The gel on its own gives a very natural look but that little bit extra specially for erm 'none make up' days. The combination of the two is amazing and just how I personally think that eyebrows should look.

The brushes in the set are quite good in quality, the angle brush for the gel is just the right size and the mini powder brush gives a good coverage. These are my second pair of mini Benefit Tweezers as you get some in the Smokin Eye Kit to and I cant say enough good things about them. I think I actually prefer them to my rather expensive Tweezerman's as even though they are small they are sharp and precise.

I have tried a few different eye brow pencils and definitely prefer a gel and a powder. The only down side is the kit doesn't contain an eye brow comb but the lady at the counter gave me a few mascara brushes that work great.

Hope this as been helpful please comment is you have a favourite eyebrow product you would recommend.
